Every garden presents its own combination of opportunities, requirements and constraints. My approach is to understand these thoroughly before developing a design that brings them together into a coherent, beautiful and practical whole.
Planting is central to my work. I select plants for their suitability to the setting as well as their individual qualities, considering structure, foliage, texture, colour and seasonal interest to create planting that feels natural, balanced and enduring.
