My Services
I offer three levels of garden design service, tailored to the level of support you need and how far you would like to develop your outdoor space. Each project begins with an on-site visit, where I get to know your garden, your ideas, and how you want to use your space. This initial visit forms the foundation for all work that follows, allowing me to assess the site properly and provide clear, informed guidance.
From here, you can choose the most appropriate level of service - from focused advice and a report, though to bespoke planting design, or a full garden redesign and masterplan.
My approach is always to create gardens that are both beautiful and practical, shaped by the character of the site and designed to suit the way you live.
Garden Consultation Service
Whether you’ve recently moved, want to solve a specific garden problem, or make better use of your outdoor space, my Garden Consultation Service is designed to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.
During a relaxed visit to your garden, we’ll walk though the space together and discuss your goals, challenges and ideas. I’ll provide guidance on how to improve your garden, identifying opportunities to enhance planting, layout , and overall use of space, and answering any questions you have along the way.
Following the visit, you’ll receive a personalised written garden report, setting out clear recommendations tailored to your garden. This ensures you have something practical to refer back to, helping you make informed decisions and avoid costly mistakes in future changes.
Your report may include planting suggestions, layout improvement ideas, seasonal maintenance guidance, plant identification and ideas for developing specific areas of your garden over time.
A consultation can be an excellent alternative to a full redesign, offering professional insight and direction while allowing you to develop your garden at your own pace.
Garden advice visit with garden report
Includes:
On-site consultation
Discussion of your goals and priorities
Assessment of planting and layout
Follow-up research where required
Practical advice and recommendations
Personalised written report
Optional soil analysis upgrade
A professional soil analysis can be included to provide a deeper understanding of your garden’s growing conditions.
Soil samples are taken during the consultation and sent for laboratory testing and a full analysis report. This provides valuable information about your soil’s characteristics and growing conditions, helping to inform future planting decisions and soil improvement strategies.
With this upgrade your written garden report will also include tailored recommendations for selecting plants suited to your garden’s conditions.
Bespoke Planting Design
If you’re happy with your garden’s overall layout but want to improve specific areas, my Bespoke Planting Design may be more suitable.
It focuses on transforming existing borders into cohesive, well-structured planting schemes that enhance structure, seasonal interest, resilience and biodiversity as desired. I’ll develop a thoughtful, site-specific, scaled planting design that makes the most of your space and brings underperforming areas together.
Both the Bespoke Planting Design and the Complete Garden Design services begin with an initial on-site meeting, where I can understand the existing garden. Following this, and upon agreement of the fee, the design phase begins.
To inform the design, a client questionnaire is used to develop a clear brief, exploring your preferences and aspirations for the space.
I carry out a measured site survey and site analysis of the area, supported by a professional soil analysis to inform plant choice and ensure the design is suited to existing growing conditions, supporting strong establishment and long-term success. For more complex or mature gardens, a specialist topographical survey may be arranged.
This work provides the foundation for an accurate, detailed planting plan tailored to your garden’s conditions and your soil. Following the visit, you will receive a bespoke planting design package, including a scaled planting plan, planting schedule and mood board. These documents provide a clear and practical framework for implementation, whether you are planting the scheme yourself or working with a contractor.
Plant selection is guided by your garden’s conditions, context and long-term performance, with careful consideration given to how the planting will establish, mature and sit within the wider landscape.

Complete Garden Design
My Complete Garden Design service offers a comprehensive approach to reimagining your outdoor space, from initial ideas through to detailed plans ready for construction and planting.
It focuses on transforming your entire garden into a cohesive, well-planned space that balances layout, materials and planting. I’ll develop a thoughtful, site specific, scaled masterplan that brings together hard landscaping and planting to create a unified, functional and beautifully designed outdoor space.
From there, I develop an initial concept package, including a scaled site plan, concept layout drawing and mood boards to communicate the overall vision for the garden, including hard landscaping, planting style and material palette. Elevational drawings are produced where required to help illustrate key areas.
Once the concept is agreed, the design is developed into a detailed masterplan, including construction-ready scaled drawings, technical layouts and a comprehensive planting plan with full plant specifications and quantities, ensuring the scheme can be implemented accurately on site.
